Deer Hunting in South Carolina:

“Private hunting clubs are numerous across South Carolina. Typically a group of hunters get together and lease hunting rights on a piece of property. Much of the land is leased from paper companies and the amount of habitat work allowed if well defined. . We spend around $60,000 on habitat work and the members donate 500 man hours a year maintaining food plots and keeping open areas cut. Each member works five days a year on the club lands. Our focus has been deer, turkey and dove but the small game and non-game species have done extremely well.”

As appeared in "Easy Street Magazine", Fall 2005.

Whitetail DeerCedar Ridge Plantation is dedicated to providing the optimum experience for the serious Whitetail Deer hunter in South Carolina. We do not measure success by the number of deer harvested but by the quality of the hunting experience and the chance to take a trophy buck. Large timber land tracts and a select group of 25 members allows the hunt club to offer plenty of room for serious hunting.

The Cedar Ridge method is simple. We acquire prime Whitetail Deer and turkey habitat and manage it for long periods of time. Our management plan includes establishing food plots, reducing buck to doe ratio and maintaining strict guidelines for harvesting Whitetail Deer.

Happy Hunters

Cedar Ridge is a club unlike any other I have been at, certainly in South Carolina.  If you are looking for a high volume processing club with a million members you don't know, this club is not for you.  However, if you are looking for a solid quality deer managed property and a group of ethical hunters that promote a family friendly atmosphere, you won't find a better value for your money than Cedar Ridge.  One visit is all it will take to realize what a gem this place is!

I know whomever were to join they could not ask for a better bunch of guys. The club is not just a bunch of shoot em'up,bang bang group! If you want a Trophy managed place, great guys and grade A accomodations, this is the premier place.
